r/IndianGaming’s 60K PC Build guide – Gaming & Productivity (Intel/AMD Ryzen builds)

Categories PC builds

First things first:

  1. Please go through the whole post to have a better understanding of part selection.
  2. You are free to make any changes but please do your own research. Remember that these components are selected to work together without any compatibility issues, keeping upgradability in mind.
  3. The builds may cross the 60k mark, as we do not want to compromise on the quality of the components. Spending 2k extra over 1.5L budget is better than saving a little money now and then regretting later on.
  4. The lowest prices were taken from Amazon, Flipkart, Mdcomputers, Vedantcomputers, primeagbg, itdepot at the time of posting (23/07/18). No links will be added because prices keep fluctuating and stock availability may be an issue with a particular retailer.
  5. These builds do not include a monitor, keyboard/mouse and speakers in the budget.
  6. Prices can fluctuate wildly online and offline due to supply-demand forces.
  7. Please make sure you double-check the product specifications from the manufacturer’s website and the online retailers. Product name and specs can be wrongly listed on a retailer’s website.
  8. Do not forget to check out offline stores. Offline stores offer same or lower prices because they are saving on shipping charges, which are passed on to you unless online retailers are running exclusive deals/promos. This may not always be the case, but money saved is money earned. If you are from Mumbai, check out Lamington Road. Likewise, if you are from Delhi, go check out Nehru place. Find the Lamington road or Nehru Place equivalent in your city. There is a good chance you will find what you need.
  9. Price of Windows OS is not considered because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. However, you are free to use unactivated windows.

Builds:

Build #1:

Solid Gaming (Intel Build) – This build will run current AAA titles at high-very high settings at 60FPS at 1080p. The build is for those who are looking for a balanced build with future-proofing.

Component Name Price (Inc. GST) Other Options

1.     CPU i5 8400 13.6K
2.  Motherboard B360 Plus 9.2K Other cheaper B360 boards
3.     RAM 8 GB 2400MHz 6.5K Cheapest brand
4.    HDD 1TB WD Blue 7200 RPM HDD 2.8K Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM
5.    PSU Corsair CX550 4.3K TX550M, EA550G PRO
6.    Case 100r 2.8K Spec04, DF500
7.    GPU GTX 1060 6GB 24.5K Cheapest 1060 6GB
                   Total 63.7K

Notes:

  1. B360 doesn’t support RAM frequency above 2666MHz.
  2. One can buy the 3GB 1060 to save some cash for an SSD, but we do not recommend it. Some games already require more than 3GB of VRAM (like Wolfenstein, Mirror’s Edge, and GTA V). With the extra 3gigs of RAM, you don’t have to worry about tuning down the graphics settings.
  3. We totally recommend getting a Samsung 860 evo SSD later on.

Build #2

Gaming and Productivity (Ryzen build) – This build is suitable for those who want to do other stuff apart from gaming like streaming, video editing, 3D modelling etc. Gaming at high to very high settings at 60fps@1080p will not be a problem for this build. Basically, build #1 is better for gaming but this build is better for productivity tasks.
